For a first time visit, it was absolutely fantastic. The ribs were delicious, and the baked potato was nicely prepared! Suggestion would be: ensure the condiments are all there before walking away from the register. Otherwise I love the ambience. The bathroom was very clean!

The food is great and consistent. I'd love to spend less but it's my BBQ of choice. I just order online 15-20 min prior to arrival, and then there's no wait! The staff is polite and fast. I'll be back when they open again on Tuesday!

Great BBQ Restaurant! The food is amazing. I love it that the owner offered a BBQ cooking class for boys. it was phenomenal! The boys (& their parents) learned a lot!! He even gave samples, gift bags, and snow cones to the boys. The restaurant was full. I am so grateful that he held the class. What a great way to give back to the community! I took my grandson because it seems that he will like cooking just as his dad did. Especially since my grandson's father was killed in an auto accident, having this class for boys really helped me & his mother. And, the BBQ was great!! The meat was tender and VERY tasty-- with or without the sauce.

First time stopping in here at Smokey Joe's BBQ. Right away you can definitely tell this is a local spot the whole community has been enjoying for years. This place had a whole story behind it that I truly loved. I went ahead and pretty much ordered everything that was recommended to me by the lady in the front! The ribs fell right off the bone, sauce comes on the side and it was truly amazing and authentic! The Mac & cheese was to die for, and by far one of the best briskets I've ever had. Jumping to the dessert it was a 10/10 and homemade by a local lady. The only reason I'm not giving a 5/5 is because I received my bbq warm to cold. I wish I had received it pipping hot! If you're in the area i definitely recommend trying this place out! Cheers,

I had to have BBQ when in the lone star state and Smokey Joe's came to the rescue!!! It's in the middle of the highway close to DeSoto but TRUST it's worth the drive!!! I had the ribs and the brisket Mac and cheese and omg I'm salivating!!! The ribs were SO meaty and the BBQ sauce was incorporated into the meat well. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I had enough ribs for two servings. The baked beans were also good and the green beans come with bacon bits. I do think the green beans are canned but they were still good being mixed with the bacon grease. As for the Mac and cheese it was interesting they added pico on top which was refreshing. I do wish it had a little but more guac but nonetheless it was amazing. It had so much tender brisket I had enough Mac for two sittings. My partner had the half roasted chicken because he doesn't eat pork for religious reasons and he was satisfied. Definitely wish the chicken portions were bigger but it was still perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend this BBQ joint when south of Dallas!!! Cheers to the meat sweats!!!

This was a tiny little location that at first we couldn't tell was open, even thinking the door was locked (in truth, we just couldn't tell if it was a push or pull door). The spot seemed surprisingly empty for a Sunday afternoon, but it turns out most customers were just getting their food to go. Honestly, that would be the wisest option because we wound up asking for takeout boxes anyway. The Jabo platter was way too much food for two people, though it was nice to sample all the different kinds of meats. My favorite was the brakes, and my friend said it was the first time he had turkey that wasn't dry from a barbecue restaurant. The cucumber salad and macaroni and cheese sides were both delicious. So much of barbecue is personal preference, and the sauce was thinner and sweeter than I like, but I still put some in my to-go box if that means anything.

First off, I'm from San Diego. Needed Texas bbq! It's cute inside. Small but enough room to sit if you can find seating. This place had a huge line to the door when I first went in. We were driving for a while and I had to use the restroom good thing they had one lol clean too. Lots of ppl waiting man they weee busy and that's because their bbq is off the chain yo. You gotta go check them out. We got ours to go. Once we got to our friends house, we opened our food & grubbed so fast. This was my first visit to Texas & what a great first Texas barbecue! So good I want more but already home lol this place needs to be showcased in diners dives and whatever it's called lol I also tried a rib so good but my fav was the brisket. My fav chili beans ever now! And boy oh boy that brisket! The potato salad mt hubby ate it was sweet.
